Educational Media Trip to Atheer Media Institution

Atheer Media Visit

As part of the university's efforts to introduce mass communication students to media institutions, link the scientific side with the practical side, and see how these institutions operate on the ground, journalism students conducted a field visit to Atheer Media Institution on Monday, April 20, where they were received by a team of journalists and media professionals working there.

The visit included a long and fruitful discussion session between students and journalists, during which they discussed the new media law and its impact on the work of media institutions. Attendees also discussed the future of journalism in Oman, the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing media content, and its dark side and the ethical and professional challenges it poses.

Students also listened to practical experiences from within the newsroom, which gave the visit a direct applied character and provided them with the opportunity to ask their questions and inquiries freely.

The students expressed their great benefit from this visit, emphasizing at its conclusion that such field activities represent a qualitative addition to their educational career, making them more passionate and realistic about media work. They also hoped to repeat it in other media institutions.
